Government meeting discusses measures to increase oil production and refining

Issues related to increasing the volume of oil production and refining in our country were discussed during a government meeting, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held digitally last Friday.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the state of affairs in the fuel and energy sector of the country, as well as on the oil refining work performed by the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries of the State Concern "Turkmennebit".

It was also reported on the practical steps being taken to further modernize the industry infrastructure, increase the flow rate of oil wells and obtain additional volumes of oil through the introduction of modern technologies and international experience, as well as drilling new wells.

Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the progressive development of the oil and gas industry, which is one of the basic sectors of the economy, its transformation into an advanced industry, is one of the priority areas of state policy. At the same time, priority attention should be paid to further strengthening the production potential of the fuel and energy complex, the widespread introduction of advanced developments, and the production of oil products that are in demand on world markets.

In this context, emphasis was placed on the need to build up mutually beneficial partnerships with leading foreign companies that have innovative technologies that can improve the efficiency of oil and gas field development. In this regard, the head of state instructed the vice-premier to continue the relevant work.
