Key aspects of interstate cooperation in the oil and gas sector were discussed on Wednesday at a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Ovji, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of an Iranian delegation, TDH reports.

As noted, having a colossal resource and economic potential, backed by an important geographical factor, the two neighboring states intend to continue to build up traditional cooperation on the principles of equality and mutual benefit in the fuel and energy sector, which is strategic for the national economies of both countries, the development of which both Turkmenistan and Iran pay paramount attention.

The Iranian Oil Minister expressed the deep interest and readiness of the neighboring country to deepen productive trade and economic ties, as well as interaction in transport, communications, construction and other areas that contribute to the sustainable economic development of the entire region.
