The President of Turkmenistan discussed priority areas of cooperation with the UAE delegation

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov last Friday received a UAE delegation led by Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, TDH reports.
During the meeting, the parties paid attention to the high-level agreements reached during the official visit of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Abu Dhabi in November this year.
Fuel and energy complex, chemical industry, transport and financial and economic sectors were noted among the key areas of cooperation.
The head of Turkmenistan also pointed to the existing opportunities to activate other areas, the importance of expanding the legal framework, including in the field of investment.
As noted, in this area, Turkmenistan cooperates with the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, discussing the issues of attracting investments and loans to gas chemical, agricultural, transport and logistics projects. In this regard, it was proposed to speed up negotiations on the creation of a joint Turkmen-Emirati bank.
Great prospects for cooperation were also noted in the field of renewable energy, the partnership in which started with the signing of an agreement between Turkmenenergo and the Arab company Masdar. There were also proposals to establish links between the ports of Turkmenbashi, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The guests confirmed the desire of the UAE business circles for a long-term partnership with Turkmenistan and participation in new projects. Noting the economic potential and investment attractiveness of Turkmenistan, the members of the Arab delegation emphasized the special role of the Joint Committee for Cooperation.
On the same day, the UAE delegation met with the vice-premiers for the oil and gas industry, construction, electricity, the chemical sector, and the financial and economic block. The parties also discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation in such strategic areas as the fuel and energy complex, the banking system, the processing and industrial sectors, and construction.
In this regard, it was noted that the comprehensive modernization and diversification of all segments of the national economy implemented by Turkmenistan provides for the involvement of digital technologies, advanced developments and innovations in the industry, the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources.
