Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met on Wednesday with Atsuo Kuroda, the Executive Director of the Japan Nippon Export and Investment Insurance Agency (NEXI), which provides insurance coverage for financing joint economic projects implemented by the Japanese and Turkmen sides. This is reported by the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties considered issues of partnership in the investment field and discussed new opportunities for cooperation, including the activities of NEXI to attract various financial institutions to finance projects in Turkmenistan.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to develop, diversify and expand bilateral relations.

The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov is on a working visit to Japan from December 21 to 24, within which it plans to participate in a number of events, the Foreign Ministry reports.

In particular, the Turkmen delegation will take part in the 14th joint meeting of the Japanese-Turkmen and Turkmen-Japanese committees for economic cooperation.  The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry will take part in the 9th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan".​

Also, during the visit, meetings are held in the government, parliament, relevant ministries and departments, with the leadership of financial and export credit agencies, leading Japanese companies.
