Issues related to the further improvement of the activities of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan were discussed during the first meeting of the government in the New Year, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held on a digital system last Wednesday, TDH reports.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the work carried out in this direction.

In particular, it was reported that the State Concern "Turkmennebit" is taking effective measures for the uninterrupted supply of the necessary volumes of oil products. In particular, control is exercised over the acceptance, storage, release, transportation and consumption of petroleum products by domestic consumers.

The Vice-Chairman also reported on the ongoing work to develop the “Chelekenyan gummez” structure, which is part of the Cheleken contract area.

As noted, the development of the domestic fuel and energy complex is carried out due to the accelerated development of oil and gas fields, as well as the drilling of new wells, which contributes to a significant increase in crude oil production. In this regard, it is planned to attract large specialized companies interested in participating in ongoing industry projects.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of a new development of determining the reserves of oil fields for further increasing the potential of the fuel and energy complex, which is one of the main sectors of the economy, and in this regard, he addressed the Vice-Chairman with specific instructions.

The President also noted the importance of providing a comprehensive, scientifically based approach to the study, effective and rational use of the country's rich natural hydrocarbon resources.
