More than 350 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been supplied to the Celestial Empire through the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline since the beginning of its operation.  President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wrote about this in his article "The Foundation of Strategic Partnership" for the People's Daily newspaper, published on the eve of his visit to China.  The article was reprinted last Friday in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

Talking about the trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that “the fuel and energy sector should be singled out separately.  Commissioned at the end of 2009, the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline has become the largest joint energy project implemented on the Asian continent.  To date, over 350 billion cubic meters of natural gas have already been delivered through it.  And this is far from the limit”.

According to the President, this gas pipeline "became an example of political responsibility, economic realism, and far-sighted approach of the leadership of the two countries to solving global issues of energy development".

It is worth recalling that in October 2022, at the international conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan", President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Hou Jijun said that since December 2009, more than 340 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth $60 billion have been supplied from Turkmenistan to China.

At the same time, the head of CNPC said that in the future it is planned to increase the volume of supplies of Turkmen gas to China through this gas pipeline.  To this end, the construction of the 4th line (D) to the existing 3rd operating lines of the pipeline is being discussed.
