President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of independent Turkmenistan on the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

 “With all my heart I congratulate you on the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945! I am convinced that mass cultural celebrations to commemorate this triumphant Victory of peace, friendship and goodwill will adequately express our high respect for the heroic path of our ancestors and increase pride in the independent neutral Turkmen state!”.

 “Remaining true to the principles of honor, our brave compatriots, shoulder to shoulder with representatives of fraternal peoples, showed unparalleled valor, steadfastness and true heroism on the fields of the most fierce battle of the 20th century in the name of a peaceful and free life,” the head of state noted.

 In his address, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also recalled that “In such a cruel and difficult time, our women, girls and mothers voluntarily donated 7,392 kilograms of gold and silver jewelry to the Defense Fund”.

 “We will never forget the feat of arms and life, the exceptional heroism of our valiant compatriots who selflessly fought and worked tirelessly during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945,” the message of congratulations says.

 “We treat veterans and representatives of the older generation with great respect, who gave humanity incomparable values – peace and tranquility, we create all conditions for the consistent improvement of their well-being,” the President of Turkmenistan emphasized.
