The successful promotion of major transport and energy projects, including the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, was noted during an online meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Mohammad Hanif Atmar, on October 4, 2020, the website of the foreign ministry of our country reports.
Among the projects that received an impetus for further progress, the construction of a railway, power lines and fiber-optic communications in a neighboring country was also noted.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the implementation of these projects will make a great contribution to the socio-economic development of not only the participating countries, but the entire region.
Mohammad Hanif Atmar praised the active role of Turkmenistan in facilitating the peace process in Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of the policy of positive neutrality of the neighboring country, which calls for the resolution of disputes exclusively through diplomatic instruments and within the framework of international law.
The diplomats also exchanged views on regional and international agendas, reaffirming the importance of strengthening cooperation in the face of global challenges.
