China and Turkmenistan agreed on Monday to deepen energy cooperation and push forward bilateral relations, Xinhua reported.
Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang met with a high-ranking delegation of Turkmenistan on Monday in Beijing. The meeting took place on the eve of the III High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road”, which takes place in the Chinese capital from October 17 to 18.
The Turkmen delegation included Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues Ashirguly Begliev, Vice-Chairman Hojamyrat Geldimyradov and Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmengas” Maksat Babayev.
Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, said that China is ready to work with Turkmenistan to fully implement the important agreements reached by the heads of state, deepen cooperation in the field of energy and push forward bilateral relations.
Members of the Turkmen delegation noted that Turkmenistan and China have achieved fruitful results within the framework of cooperation in the gas sector. They emphasized that Turkmenistan is ready to further deepen energy cooperation with China and push forward the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Over 500 delegates registered to participate in TIF 2024
Next week, the capital of Turkmenistan will host the Investment Forum TIF 2024, which will discuss the strategy for developing the national economy, attracting foreign investment and strengthening international cooperation. The upcoming forum will be especially large-scale: it will be attended by more than 500 delegates, including representatives of government agencies, the private sector, international organizations and foreign investors.
