On December 14, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers was held in the Central building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by workers and specialists of the oil and gas complex of our country.
With great enthusiasm, those gathered heard the Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to workers in the country's oil, gas and geological industries on the occasion of their professional holiday. As the head of the state noted in his address, “the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline has a historical and political connection with the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers. On December 14, 2009, under the presidency of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline was opened and put into operation and the supply of Turkmen “blue fuel” to the East began”.
“This day, inscribed in golden letters in the chronicle of the country, was declared the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized in his address.
Speakers at the meeting noted the great political and economic importance of the Galkynyş gas field, which ranks among the first in the world in terms of energy reserves. Its phased development expands the possibilities of supplying Turkmen natural gas to international markets.
It was also stated that the demand for Turkmen energy resources is currently increasing. Therefore, world-famous companies and financial institutions are seeking to expand cooperation in this area. The implementation of Turkmenistan’s strategy for developing the export of “blue fuel” on an integrated basis depends on increasing the capabilities of extracting hydrocarbon resources. Much attention at the state level is paid to the processing of natural gas and the production of products that are in great demand on the world market. In this regard, modern gas chemical complexes are being built and put into operation.
The speakers noted that in order to implement the Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan for the period until 2030 and ensure energy security and stable economic development of the country, a further increase in the production capacity of the fuel and energy complex is envisaged. In this context, targeted measures are being taken at oil and gas fields to introduce the latest scientific and technical developments, innovative technologies and a digital system into the domestic fuel and energy complex in accordance with modern requirements.
The meeting participants also emphasized the importance of compliance with environmental and environmental standards when developing oil and gas fields, production, processing and delivery of hydrocarbon resources to consumers. In this regard, the country has adopted a number of national programs, in accordance with which measures are being taken to reduce the impact on climate change and reduce the negative consequences of methane emissions into the atmosphere. At the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-28), held recently in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Turkmenistan officially announced its accession to the Global Methane Commitment.
During the meeting, the most distinguished honored oil workers, gas workers, geologists and other workers of the fuel and energy complex were presented with valuable gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of their professional holiday.
Then there was a solemn ceremony of presenting certificates and valuable gifts to the winners of the competition organized by the State Concern “Turkmengas”, the Council of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Industry Workers and the editorial office of the newspaper “Nebit-gaz” among industry workers for the best article, essay, photo report, poem highlighting successes and achievements oil and gas complex. The competition was held under the motto “Oil and gas is my wealth, my treasury, let me praise you, you are my pride.”
