Issues of development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed during the visit to Japan of the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdy Jepbarov, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the visit, representatives of the Turkmen delegation held a number of meetings with members of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation, as well as bilateral negotiations with the heads of Japanese government agencies, organizations, financial institutions and leading Japanese companies.

During the meetings, prospects for the implementation of previously reached agreements, new opportunities for developing cooperation in the energy sector, as well as challenges facing the achievement of carbon neutrality were discussed.

As a result of the visit, a number of documents were signed, including a document on establishing direct air communication between the aviation authorities of Turkmenistan and Japan.
