The possibilities of expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and transit were discussed at a meeting between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and an Iranian delegation headed by Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Security Soulat Mortazavi. R. Meredov spoke in favor of increasing the volume of mutual trade and economic ties between the two countries in the context of regional integration.
As part of the discussion of the development of trade and economic cooperation, the positive dynamics of the growth of trade between the countries was emphasized. In order to further realize the existing potential, the parties noted the importance of giving impetus to increasing the volume of mutual trade.
Attention was also paid to the work of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission for economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries, which has developed in recent years based on rich experience and the principles of equality, good neighborliness and mutual respect.
The parties also stressed the importance of high-level meetings, in particular, a constructive and trusting dialogue between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran in the development of bilateral friendly relations.
