Turkmenistan celebrated Constitution and National Flag Day on May 18. In Ashgabat, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, flower-laying ceremonies were held at the Constitution Monument and the Main Flag of the country.

The opening ceremony of the monument to Makhtumkuli Fragi and the new cultural and park complex of the same name took place on the evening of May 17 in the southern part of the Turkmen capital with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During a government meeting, Vice-Chairman and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov briefed on the steps being taken to strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

On May 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which topical issues of the country’s socio-economic development were discussed.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots on the Constitution and National Flag Day of Turkmenistan, which is celebrated in the country on May 18.

At the end of 2023, mutual trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan increased in physical terms by 13% and amounted to 678 million tons. Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen cooperation with Tatarstan within the framework of a strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. This was stated by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived on May 15 on a working visit to Tatarstan to participate as an honorary guest in the International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” and the annual meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World”.

The technology for producing Hydro Plus diesel fuel with improved characteristics has been introduced into production at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikhail Jabbarov signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of natural gas between Turkey and Azerbaijan on May 14 in Istanbul, reports the Turkish channel TRT.
