The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Malaysia discussed issues of interaction in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy and humanitarian spheres during an online meeting on Tuesday, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and his Malaysian counterpart Sri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein reviewed the implementation of the agreements identified as priorities during a telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhiddin Yassin on October 27, 2020.
The diplomats expressed the need to intensify interaction in the oil and gas sector, where there is a huge potential for joint implementation. In this regard, the positive experience of cooperation with Malaysian companies specializing in oil, gas and energy was noted.
The possibilities of building up partnerships in the field of information and communication technologies and digitalization of the economy were also considered.
The sides expressed mutual interest in intensifying contacts between public and private structures of the two countries in all areas of interest.
