Turkmenistan aims to increase trade, investment cooperation and the creation of joint high-tech enterprises with Japan. This was stated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a meeting with the new Ambassador of Japan Yamamoto Hiroyuki, who presented his credentials to the head of state.

The diplomat conveyed to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the words of greetings from Emperor Naruhito of Japan and Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, which emphasized the country's focus on building up Japanese-Turkmen relations.

As the President of Turkmenistan noted, our country sees Japan as a reliable business partner. Among the topical areas of partnership were the areas of the fuel and energy complex, transport and logistics sector and other areas.

The Turkmen leader and the Japanese ambassador discussed the prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations, noting the effectiveness of the work of the joint committees on economic cooperation and the format of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue.

Large industrial enterprises built in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies were named as examples of successful partnerships. Among them: a plant for the production of ammonia and urea in Mary, a urea plant in Garabogaz, a polypropylene complex in Kiyanly, a gas chemical complex for the production of gasoline from "blue" fuel in Ahal, as well as a gas turbine power plant under construction in Lebap.
