The meeting of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and India will become an impetus for further building up a mutually beneficial partnership

 On April 1, President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit.  On Saturday, April 2, the Turkmen-Indian high-level talks were held in the Oguzkhan Palace Complex in a short and then in an expanded format with the participation of members of the official delegations of the two countries.

 As was noted at the meeting with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the first visit of the President of India to Turkmenistan contributes to the further development of mutually beneficial partnership, as well as friendly and fraternal relations between states and peoples.

 Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ram Nath Kovind exchanged views on a number of topical issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.

 A special place in the negotiations was given to the development of trade and economic partnership.  The parties expressed interest in expanding cooperation in various sectors and identified energy, petrochemicals, transport, communications, information and technology, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, construction, agriculture, product processing and other industries as potential areas for broader cooperation between the two countries.

 At the end of the talks, the parties signed a package of bilateral documents aimed at intensifying multidimensional contacts, strengthening trust and mutual understanding between the Turkmen and Indian peoples and our states.

 Then the heads of the two states addressed the representatives of the mass media.  The Presidents emphasized that Turkmenistan and India have a solid potential for a multifaceted partnership, the implementation of which will serve to build even stronger and more reliable bridges of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
