Turkmenistan and Russia will expand cooperation in the field of energy and transport, according to the Declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, signed by the heads of the two countries following the first official visit to Moscow by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Noting the positive dynamics of cooperation in the field of energy, in particular, increasing the level of interaction between the oil and gas companies of the two countries, the parties agreed that they would make joint efforts to deepen cooperation between them in the field of geological exploration and development of oil and gas fields, exchange of experience and training in the oil and gas industry.
The parties also expressed their «readiness to increase cooperation within the framework of projects to improve energy efficiency, build new and modernize existing power generation facilities in Turkmenistan.»
«The parties welcome the constructive interaction between the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation in accordance with the existing agreements, to which both states are parties», the document declares.
The Declaration also notes that «The Parties will actively cooperate in the field of civil aviation for the further development of air communication between the countries».
The parties also «expressed their readiness to closely cooperate in the field of international road transport in order to create favorable conditions for national road carriers».
