Turkmenistan and Germany are preparing to hold a joint economic forum in October

The issues of holding the Turkmen-German economic forum in Germany in October 2023 were discussed during the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Germany on April 25–28. This was announced by the Vice-Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a working meeting held by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on a digital system last Monday.
As R. Meredov noted in his report, during the working visit of the Turkmen delegation, a meeting was held with the Secretary General of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, one of the largest economic organizations in the country, at which the issues of holding the Turkmen-German economic forum in October 2023 in Germany with the participation of representatives of state organizations and business structures of Turkmenistan.
There was also an exchange of proposals for the preparation of this forum at a high level, for this purpose it was proposed to organize three preliminary thematic training seminars on the digital system.
During the visit, negotiations were also held with the heads of the German companies CLAAS and Wilo, who stressed that German business circles are showing great interest in further developing cooperation with Turkmenistan. In this regard, the importance of expanding contacts in such areas as technology, innovation, investment, digital technology and the green economy was noted.
To discuss issues of bilateral partnership in the banking system, the Turkmen delegation met with the heads of Deutsche Bank AG and Commerzbank AG, R.Meredov noted.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that relations between Turkmenistan and Germany are multifaceted and are developing in an ascending line. Confirmation of this is the constructive dialogue in the political and diplomatic sphere, and the trade and economic ties and contacts in the cultural and humanitarian field that are growing year by year.
As noted, the existing solid potential provides ample opportunities for the intensification of bilateral partnership in various areas, the implementation of new promising projects.
In this context, a significant role is assigned to strengthening interaction between relevant state and business structures, holding joint economic forums that contribute to the diversification of cooperation, and determining its priority vectors in the light of modern realities.
Speaking of this, the head of state gave a number of specific instructions for the further development of the Turkmen-German partnership on a long-term systematic basis.
