Less than two weeks remain before the start of the next International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2023” (OGT 2023), which will be held in Ashgabat on October 25-27.  This is one of the key events for the energy industry of our country, at which current issues of development of the oil and gas sector will be discussed.

The upcoming forum will traditionally bring together representatives of the world’s leading oil and gas companies, as well as experts and industry leaders from Turkmenistan and foreign countries.  The conference will include a number of reports and panel discussions on trends in the global energy market, prospects for the development of hydrocarbon deposits and attracting investments.

In parallel with the conference, an exhibition will be held where the achievements of the oil and gas industry will be presented.  Leading oil and gas companies and equipment suppliers will present their products and solutions.

More than 300 delegates from different countries are expected to take part in the forum.  As part of the event, meetings are planned with the leadership of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan.  This will provide an opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation and new investment projects.

One of the silver partners of the upcoming event will be the Korean company Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.  The company’s specialists took an active part in the project to develop the giant Galkynysh gas field, which started in 2009.

The initial stage of development of this field was successfully completed in 2013 through the joint efforts of the State Concern “Turkmengas” and companies from the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China.  Under this project, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.  Built a gas desulfurization plant at the field.

The technical capabilities of the Korean company also imply participation in oil refining projects.  Thus, in a consortium with LG International Corporation Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.  Built and launched several new technological units at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (TCOR).

Another successful example of cooperation with Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.  Is the construction of a gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the village of Kiyanly, Balkan velayat.  The Korean company LG International Corporation and the Japanese TOYO Engineering Corporation also participated in the implementation of this project under the leadership of the State Concern “Turkmengas”.

Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.  Also provides training and education for local personnel.  At the gas chemical complex in Kiyanly, the company opened a Specialists Training Center, on the basis of which more than a hundred Turkmen workers participating in construction work in Kiyanly are being trained.  This Center also improves the skills of technicians working at other industrial enterprises in Turkmenistan.
