The President of Turkmenistan discussed preparations for the upcoming investment forum in Brussels with the Vice-President of the European Commission

The prospects for cooperation in key areas of cooperation were discussed on Wednesday at the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Vice President of the European Commission Margaritas Shinas, according to TDH.
During the conversation, an interested exchange of views took place on the prospects for interaction in the context of its key aspects and the available diverse potential. In this regard, the head of state emphasized the importance of the upcoming EU-Central Asia Sustainable Transport Forum planned for the end of January in Brussels.
Noting that today the transport and logistics system is one of the most promising areas of cooperation on the agenda of the Turkmenistan-EU partnership, Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured that Turkmenistan will take an active part in the work of the forum. Wishing to successfully hold an investment forum, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his conviction that its results will allow transforming the Trans-Caspian transport corridor connecting Central Asia and Europe into a multimodal, modern, stable and high-speed Route.
The Vice President of the European Commission noted that the implementation of new approaches to partnership with Turkmenistan by the European Union is a strong basis for effective joint activities.
Noting the positive development of a multifaceted partnership, the President of Turkmenistan stated that projects such as “Sustainable Energy Relations in Central Asia (SECCA)” are being successfully implemented at the regional level, Border Management Promotion Program in Central Asia (Bomcha-io) and others.
At the same time, it was emphasized that at present, leading European companies are represented in many branches of the Turkmen economy – in the oil and gas complex, areas of electric power, construction, communications and communications.
During the meeting, the guest conveyed warm words of greeting from the leaders of the European Union to the head of Turkmenistan, emphasizing that the European Union is interested in expanding a long-term productive dialogue with the Turkmen state, a strategic partner who currently holds a leading position in region of Central Asia and demonstrating high peacekeeping potential.
Also conveying best wishes to the leadership of the European Union, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the current visit will serve as a good opportunity for fruitful negotiations with Turkmen colleagues, discussing opportunities and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
