The President of Turkmenistan discussed priority areas of cooperation with the OSCE Secretary General

On March 5, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Ms. Helga Schmid, TDH reports.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to consolidating efforts in ensuring peace, security and sustainable development on the planet. In this regard, one of the priorities is to increase effective interaction with foreign partners, including such large international organizations as the OSCE.
Helga Schmidt noted the high interest of the OSCE in further strengthening long-term constructive cooperation with our country, covering a wide range of areas.
The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the meeting of the OSCE Secretary General and the ministers of environmental protection of the Central Asian countries, which took place on March 4 in Ashgabat, at which issues of cooperation in the field of ecology were discussed, will serve to intensify dialogue in this area.
Continuing the conversation, it was emphasized that comprehensive work is being carried out in the environmental field in Turkmenistan. Thus, in December 2023, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was held in Dubai (UAE), at which Turkmenistan announced its accession to the Global Methane Commitment.
At the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the President of Turkmenistan put forward an initiative to create a Regional Center for Technologies related to Climate Change in Central Asia in the country. All this confirms the commitment of the Turkmen state to multilateral partnership in the environmental sphere.
Another promising area during the conversation was the energy sector. Noting that Turkmenistan has rich energy potential, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the expediency of carrying out specific work within the OSCE to bring energy resources to the world market and transit, including political, financial and environmental aspects.
The prospects for establishing cooperation in the transport sector were also noted. At the same time, Turkmenistan’s readiness to expand partnership with the OSCE in specific areas was confirmed.

New oil inflows received at the North Goturdepe field
New commercial inflows of hydrocarbon raw materials have been obtained at the North Goturdepe field. They confirmed the reserves of black gold predicted by specialists of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» within the North Goturdepe deposit and the shallow waters of the Caspian Sea and the area adjacent to them, including the sections of Central and Western Goturdepe.

Turkmenistan's GDP growth for 11 months amounted to 6.2%
According to the results of eleven months, a stable GDP growth rate is observed in Turkmenistan, which amounted to 6.2%. This was reported at a government meeting last Friday, which discussed the results of the country's socio-economic development in January-November 2022.

The Results of the Activities of the Fuel and Energy Complex for 11 Months Were Considered at the Sectoral Meeting
On December 17, a reporting meeting was held at the Central Building of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan, at which the results of the activities for January-November of the year “The Era of the People with Arkadag” were considered. The tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov before the oil and gas complex at the extended sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held on December 16 via digital video link to consider the results of the country’s socioeconomic development in January-November 2022, were also discussed.

Seydi Oil Refinery increased fuel production in January-November
Workers of the Seydi oil refinery completed their work for 11 months in excess of the planned targets. During this period, the enterprise produced more than 208 thousand tons of gasoline and 104 thousand tons of diesel fuel, as well as about 34 thousand tons of vacuum gas oil, more than 28 thousand tons of road bitumen.

TCOR completes construction of delayed coking and tar deasphalting units
At the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (TCOR), the construction of delayed coking units (DCU) and tar deasphalting units (DAU) is being completed. Modern units are being built by the order of the TCOR by the US company Westport Trading Europe Limited.
