The Turkmen-Japanese business forum in Tokyo confirmed the readiness of the parties to strengthen cooperation

A business forum between Turkmenistan and Japan was held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, on March 27, organized with the active assistance of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Chairman and CEO of JETRO Norihiko Ishiguro and the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Begench Gochmollaev spoke at the opening of the forum.
The speakers expressed their readiness to further strengthen relations, emphasized the importance of bilateral economic opportunities, and also stated the need to open a trade mission of Turkmenistan in Japan and a JETRO representative office in Turkmenistan in order to increase trade and economic cooperation between the countries.
The forum was held in three sessions. At the first session, issues of developing cooperation in the field of investment, industry, transport and logistics between the two countries were discussed. The second session was devoted to the development of cooperation in the private sector. During the third session, the presentation of the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan at the upcoming world exhibition EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan took place.
Within the framework of the forum, bilateral meetings were held between the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the leaders of JETRO, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the Japan Association for the World Exhibition EXPO 2025, the NEXI insurance agency, the Russia-Eurasia Research Institute, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), representatives of the banks JBIC, Mizuho, ING, Deutsche, SMBC and various Japanese companies.
The meetings were aimed at further strengthening and expanding cooperation in various fields and creating favorable conditions for business development and investment.
During the forum, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and JETRO, which is an important step in strengthening and expanding economic ties between the two countries.
