Turkmenistan on December 1 will hold an international online conference «Cooperation in the energy sector is the most important condition for universal sustainable development».  This was announced by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldi Meredov at the enlarged government meeting held on Thursday.

The agenda of the upcoming forum includes topics dedicated to the implementation of energy diplomacy of Turkmenistan, the intensification of cooperation in this area, as well as transnational pipelines, which are an important factor in sustainable development and energy security.

During the online conference, it is also planned to hold meetings of the heads of the oil and gas complex with representatives of foreign companies.

As the Vice-Chairman noted, the conference was prepared in accordance with the plan of celebrations and events for October-December 2020 in honor of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

After hearing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the significant role of the oil and gas industry in the economy of Turkmenistan, which is one of the world's energy powers.

As the leader of the nation noted, it is important not only to demonstrate the achievements and capabilities of the domestic fuel and energy complex, but also to back them up with an effective mechanism of trade and economic interaction with the business circles of the planet, and specific mutually beneficial projects.

The President of Turkmenistan instructed the Vice-Chairman to ensure a high organizational level of the conference, designed to become an open platform for discussing topical issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sector, to help attract innovative technologies and additional investments to the country.

The upcoming forum will be a continuation of the international conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2020", held in a hybrid format on October 28-29, which brought together 100 oil and gas companies from 30 countries of the world on its website.
