The issues of further building up and deepening bilateral partnership in priority areas were discussed at a meeting of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council, held in the format of a videoconference, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The Turkmen side was represented by the heads of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs and other departments. The British side was represented by the British Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Turkmenistan Baroness Nicholson, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Hugh Stanley Philpott, and Managing Director of JCB Sales Limited Den Thompstone.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of trade, economic and financial cooperation in various sectors of the economy, as well as the possibilities of strengthening business cooperation.
The British side expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the business circles of Turkmenistan and the UK, including the participation of British companies in joint projects. They also discussed trade proposals for the development and increase of trade between the two states.
