On Sunday, September 22, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The head of the Russian Federation cordially congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wished him good health, well-being, and further success in his responsible state activities.

Noting the great personal contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to strengthening fruitful bilateral cooperation, Vladimir Putin asked to convey warm words of greeting and best wishes to Hero Arkadag.

The head of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for warm congratulations and good wishes, as well as attention to the development of bilateral cooperation, noting that our country attaches great importance to the comprehensive strengthening of ties with the Russian Federation.

As noted, the consistent expansion of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. Relations between our countries are based on the principles of friendship, trust and mutual understanding. Good results have been achieved over the years of cooperation.

In this regard, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the further development and strengthening of Turkmen-Russian relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

During the telephone conversation, the heads of state confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for further multilateral cooperation.

During the conversation, President Vladimir Putin invited the President of Turkmenistan to the upcoming CIS Summit in Russia in October. At the same time, the importance of the international forum in Ashgabat dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtumguly Fragi was noted.
