During the meeting, it was noted that trade, economic and energy cooperation occupies a special place on the agenda of Turkmen-Pakistani relations.

Currently, the countries are implementing major regional energy and communication projects, in particular, the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, as well as a fiber-optic communication line and a power transmission line along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.

Noting that these projects will contribute to the socio-economic development of the entire region in the future, the head of state expressed confidence that Ambassador Leghari will contribute to the implementation of these major projects, coordinating the efforts of the two countries.

The Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan highly appreciates the peace-loving policy pursued by Turkmenistan, and, taking the opportunity, conveyed greetings from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as Hero Arkadag. During the meeting, it was emphasized that Pakistan is one of the most important partners of Turkmenistan in the South Asian region. At present, cooperation between the two countries is successfully developing in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, energy, transport, educational and cultural and humanitarian fields.
