The State Concern “Turkmengas” is carrying out large-scale work on the phased development of the giant Galkynysh gas field. During the current stage of operation of this field, the “Turkmengazburawlayysh” Administration, commissioned by the “Marygazchykarysh” Administration, drilled well No. 264, which is more than four thousand meters deep.

As a result, a productive horizon was opened, located in the depth range between 3852 and 4011 meters, where a natural gas inflow with a daily flow rate of 2 million 240 thousand cubic meters was obtained.

According to experts, this gas well may play a significant role in strengthening the industrial potential of the country's fuel and energy complex in the future.

The reserves of the Galkynysh field exceed the size of gas deposits of all the fields currently being developed in Turkmenistan and allow it to be included in the top four most grandiose centers of "blue fuel" on the planet. In terms of total reserves, it is second only to "South Pars" (located on the territory of Iran and Qatar, reserves are 28 trillion cubic meters) and, in fact, is the second largest in the world.

The work carried out at the field is aimed at further development of the domestic fuel and energy complex, expansion of production capacities, strengthening the country's export potential.

This is also facilitated by the introduction of innovative technologies and advanced methods in the development of geological formations promising for hydrocarbon reserves, expansion of vectors of international cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, the formation of long-term and mutually beneficial relations with foreign partners.
