Hero-Arkadag identified key tasks in preparing the UN Conference in Avaza

The Avaza National Tourist Zone is preparing to become a venue for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. On Sunday, July 11, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the State Organizing Committee dedicated to holding the upcoming forum, TDH reports.
The conference, which will be held from August 4 to 8, 2025 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, will bring together delegations from 32 countries, including heads of state, representatives of the UN and international organizations. The forum is being held within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust proclaimed by the UN General Assembly and is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
The meeting summed up the preparations and set specific tasks. Among them: implementation of the provisions of the Presidential Decree on holding the Conference, completion of construction and improvement works in Turkmenbashi, the airport and in the Avaza zone, preparation of the opening and closing ceremonies jointly with the UN, organization of seven forums and five high-level round tables, provision of logistics, food, medicine and hotel services at the international level, a cultural program, including exhibitions, concerts and national days of the participating countries.
Hero-Arkadag also focused on the design of the city, control over security, transport and training of volunteers, including their uniform that meets modern requirements and climatic conditions.
During the meeting, the Vice-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country presented reports on the current state of work.
In particular, Vice-Chairman Batyr Amanov provided detailed information on the developed program for the organized holding of the international Conference and the proper solution of relevant tasks, and also assured that every effort would be made to ensure that the events within its framework fully comply with modern requirements and international standards. Hero-Arkadag noted the need for coordinated work of specialized services for the organized holding of the planned events, paying special attention to the high-level meeting of guests and the proper organization of the Conference. In conclusion, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished success in organizing the international event and inspected the volunteers' uniforms and the design of the transport.
