China received more than 3.8 billion cubic meters of gas from Central Asia in January

The Central Asia-China gas pipeline transported more than 3.87 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China in January 2021, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Chinese oil company PipeChina West Pipeline.

According to the company, in the first month of the year, the maximum daily gas supply to the pipeline was 153 million cubic meters.

It is also reported that natural gas imports through the Central Asia-China pipeline account for more than 15% of the total gas consumed in the country annually. The pipeline provides "blue fuel" to 500 million people in 27 provinces of China, cities of central subordination and autonomous regions, as well as in the Hong Kong SAR.
