 The President of Turkmenistan, by a decree of February 11, 2021, appointed Shakhym Abdrakhmanov as Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, relieving him of the post of rector of the International University of Oil and Gas.

 Shahym Abdrakhmanov

 Born in 1963 in the Yagtyol gengeshlik of the Karakum etrap of the Mary region.

 Higher education.  In 1986 he graduated from the Turkmen State Architectural and Construction Institute. Major – mining engineer-geologist.  He began his career in 1986 as a geologist of the engineering and technical service of the oil exploration expedition of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology». From 1987 to 2005 worked in various positions in this corporation.

 In the period from 2005 to 2006, he worked as the chief geologist of the “Yashyldepe” oil and gas production department of the State Concern  “Turkmennebit”.

 From 2006 to 2014 – Head of the Lebapnebitgazgozleg Department of the SC “Turkmengeology”.  From 2014 to 2017 – Head of the Marynebitgazgozleg Department of the SC “Turkmengeology”.  From 2017 to 2020 – Chairman of the SC “Turkmengeology”.

 Since July 2020 – Rector of the International University of Oil and Gas.

 He was awarded the jubilee medal «Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 25 ýyllygyna».
