On July 9, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Senator Steve Daines of Montana, a member of the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, who was visiting our country, TDH reports.

As was emphasized during the meeting, relations between Turkmenistan and the US are currently developing consistently based on the principles of mutual respect, understanding, and trust. Bilateral cooperation, which is multifaceted, includes political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

The head of Turkmenistan noted that active political dialogue has been ongoing between the two countries in recent years. This is evidenced by the President of Turkmenistan's working visit to Washington in November 2025 to participate in the "Central Asia + US" Summit, as well as the visit of Hero Arkadag to Florida in February of this year, which contributed to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

As noted, trade and economic cooperation are among the promising areas of bilateral relations. In this context, the significant contribution of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council to the coordination of economic relations was noted. A meeting of this Council was recently held in Ashgabat, which created opportunities to discuss new areas of productive cooperation.

During the meeting, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to cooperate with the US in key areas such as fuel and energy, transportation, finance and banking, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence.

As noted, with its rich natural resource reserves, Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy to diversify energy supply routes, advocating for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships based on equal consideration of the interests of producers, consumers, and transit countries.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that our country highly appreciates the attention and support provided by the US to the implementation of the promising Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project. Speaking about this, the head of state expressed confidence that this project will contribute to economic development and strengthen cooperation in the region.
