Despite the difficulties that have arisen in the global economy due to the coronavirus pandemic, our country has managed to cope with all the tasks set. This was stated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, summarizing the results of the work done for the 1st quarter of 2021, which were discussed at the government meeting last Friday.

As the Head of state noted, in the first quarter, the economy of Turkmenistan continued to develop within the framework of the planned programs. The GDP growth rate has been stable at 5.9% since the beginning of the year, and wages have increased by 10%.

A market economy is being formed. The development of oil and gas fields continues, the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan energy and communication systems, the TAPI transnational gas pipeline is underway, and other international projects are being prepared, the President continued.

The policy of support and development of private business is consistently implemented, entrepreneurs are widely involved in the implementation of economic reforms. The reform of the political system of our independent state continues.
