Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shahim Abdrakhmanov reported on the results of the work on the implementation of the "Program for the development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030" in the first quarter of this year, as well as on the results of a working trip to the Mary and Lebap regions during a government meeting that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held last Friday on the digital system.

Within the framework of the report, it was reported on the technical and economic indicators achieved in the field of oil and gas condensate production, oil refining.

After hearing the report, the President noted that there is still no positive dynamics in the oil and gas sector, no progress. The volume of hydrocarbon production is not growing, and half of the produced crude oil is exported. At the same time, despite the previously given instructions, for a long time the capacity of oil refineries is used only by 40%.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out, not enough attention is paid to attracting investments in the oil and gas industry, as well as to the development of oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea. The processing of raw materials is also slow.

The Head of State stressed that it is necessary to accelerate the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India. Work on other international natural gas export projects should also be carried out at a faster pace.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the work of the Vice Prime Minister and the heads of the complex he oversees, the President instructed to immediately take measures to change the current situation and eliminate all existing shortcomings.
