President of Turkmenistan welcomes participants of the International Oil and Gas Investment Forum

“I congratulate you on opening of the International Forum on attracting foreign investments to the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan! Great importance is paid to this event in order to address many tasks set to the oil and gas complex of the country,” President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov says in his welcoming address of to the participants of the investment forum held in Ashgabat.
According to the President of Turkmenistan, along with the export of energy resources to world markets, Turkmenistan pays special attention to the creation of modern oil and gas processing facilities. One of the world leaders in producing natural gas, our country implements large-scale projects to develop the oil and gas and industrial sectors of the national economy. Industrial giants specialized in the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials are built in the country.
Foreign businessmen participating in the International Forum will be familiarized with the possibilities of investing in the fuel and energy complex, the strategy for the development of the oil and gas industry, the practices in attracting modern technologies, the methods of implementing services and modernizing the industry.
The Forum will provide the most favorable conditions for all interested foreign investors. Businessmen will be able to present their proposals for the provision of modern services and negotiate with Turkmen colleagues.
“Intensive development of fields rich in oil and natural gas with the attraction of foreign investment is one of the priorities in the development of the national oil and gas complex. New field discovery, expansion of their areas, well drilling are carried out jointly with foreign companies within the framework of concluded contracts and agreements.
“The energy strategy of Turkmenistan is aimed at developing the fuel and energy complex and integrating it into the world energy system. Turkmenistan carries out large-scale work to create a multi-vector gas pipeline system, diversify the export of Turkmen energy resources to world markets.
“Currently, the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India continues at high paces. The implementation of this large-scale project will not only strengthen the economic potential of the participating states, but also will contribute to the development of other countries.
“Turkmenistan is not limited to the production of energy resources and their supply to other countries. With every passing year, our country increases the volume of exports of gas chemical products, which are in great demand in the world. In this context, great importance is attached to enhancing potential of natural gas processing for manufacturing new products.
“In recent years, tremendous has been done within the framework of the adopted programmes. Thus, in accordance with the Programme for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry, we are planning to launch construction of a number of gas chemical complexes and plants in the near future. The implementation of new projects significant for the region and the world in the fuel and energy sector will remain one of the priorities of our state policy in the future.
“I am sure that the International Forum will provide a platform to exchange experience of businessmen of our country with foreign partners, discuss mutually beneficial projects, establish promising cooperation,» President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov says in his welcoming address.
