The Turkmen side is ready to establish long-term multifaceted cooperation with stakeholders, said Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the website of the foreign ministry of our country reports.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov headed the Turkmen delegation that paid a working visit to St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation to participate in SPIEF-2021. Speaking at the thematic session of the forum, the Deputy Prime Minister also announced the priority areas of cooperation.
Within the framework of the forum, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, co-chairman of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, co-chairman of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation Alexey Overchuk.
During the conversation, the parties noted the active dynamics of the development of Turkmen-Russian relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. The importance of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and its mechanisms in promoting bilateral trade and economic ties was emphasized.
Issues of cooperation in the field of energy, transport, industry, digitalization, healthcare, finance and others were discussed. A stable growth in the volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Russia was noted.
Within the framework of the visit, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also held meetings with the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and the General Director of JSC «United Shipbuilding Corporation» Alexey Rakhmanov.
The head of the Turkmen delegation stressed the importance of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, in which Turkmenistan took an active part.
In this context, the commitment of Turkmenistan to create a favorable investment climate in the country was emphasized, the possibilities of its growing transport and logistics infrastructure were reflected.
Also, the participants of the Turkmen delegation met with representatives of a number of Russian corporations, financial and banking institutions.
