A bridge will be built in Turkmenistan across the Karabogazgol Strait, bordering Kazakhstan

An international tender will be announced in Turkmenistan for the construction of a new automobile bridge across the Garabogazgol Strait and the reconstruction of the road leading to it. The corresponding instruction was given by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a recent trip to the Balkan region, and familiarization with the state of the object.

The width of the Garabogazgol Strait is 200 meters, it connects the bay of the same name with the Caspian Sea.

According to the head of state, the construction of a new bridge across the Garabogazgol Strait will become an important engineering structure of the international transport route Turkmenistan–Kazakhstan. The reconstruction of the road leading to it, which will be docked with the Ashgabat–Turkmenbashi expressway, will significantly increase the capacity of the country's road system, the quality and efficiency of logistics services, expand the international transport and transit infrastructure and trade and economic relations with neighboring states.
