In a letter to Emperor Naruhito of Japan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated him on the successful commissioning of a gas turbine power plant in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, which became another symbol of successful constructive Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.
In implementation of the project with the participation of well-known Japanese companies, advanced developments and new technologies were used. This facility is of great importance not only in increasing the strategic energy potential of our country, but also for stable and reliable energy supply to the entire region, in particular, neighboring Afghanistan, the message says.
The Turkmen leader noted that friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Japan were progressively developing in various directions, enriching with new content.
A key place in the economic agenda of the two countries is occupied by the implementation of joint projects and the strengthening of investment partnerships. In Turkmenistan, with the participation of Japanese companies and financial structures, a number of large projects in the oil and gas complex, the chemical industry and the energy industry have been implemented, positive experience has been accumulated in this area, the head of state emphasized.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop and improve in the interests of our peoples.
As previously reported, a delegation from Japan headed by State Minister Ejima Kiyoshi arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the opening ceremony of the hydroelectric power station, built in cooperation with the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, who announced the desire of Japanese companies to continue to participate in industrial projects in Turkmenistan.
