These days, work is underway to prepare for the National Day of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Exhibition «EXPO-2020», which opened on October 1 in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The National Day of Turkmenistan at this forum will be held on October 9. High-level business meetings with representatives of the UAE are scheduled for this date, as well as the signing of a number of documents. Also, at the site of the national pavilion, song and musical performances by masters of culture and arts of the country are scheduled.
The international exhibition of planetary significance will open up great opportunities to demonstrate the achievements and export potential of Turkmenistan, exchange experience, and resolve issues of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Guests and delegates of the exhibition will be able to familiarize themselves in more detail with products of Turkmen production, domestic goods and souvenirs.
The pavilion of Turkmenistan is located in the «Mobility» zone. A sculptural composition of five Akhal-Teke horses is installed in front of the entrance to the pavilion. The pavilion building itself has the shape of a sail, and the ribbed reefs on it symbolize the dunes.
The theme of the Turkmen national pavilion: «Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Peace and Trust». The architect of the building of the pavilion of Turkmenistan is the Tekmil company.
During the exhibition, more than 190 countries will demonstrate their achievements and innovations in the field of technology, science and art.
The ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, told the Al-Bayan newspaper during the opening of EXPO 2020 that it would be «an exceptional event that will be engraved in the memory of mankind». He added that the AEO is organizing the event «to find solutions to global problems through the international cooperation that humanity needs».
The Dubai government spent about $7 billion USD on this event.
EXPO is the most famous exhibition in the world. It is held every five years in different countries. The venue is each time determined by a vote of the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau. The first World's Fair took place in London in 1851.
