Turkmenistan and the UAE signed agreements in the field of investments, ports and energy

 Turkmenistan and the UAE signed a number of agreements and memorandums in the field of investments, ports and energy.  The signing ceremony took place after the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the headquarters of Expo 2020 Dubai.

 Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the signing of bilateral documents, stressing the importance of expanding the opportunities for partnership between the UAE and Turkmenistan.

 During the meeting, the state of relations between the two countries was considered, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest.

 The package of documents signed includes a memorandum of understanding in the field of port operations and logistics between one of the world's largest port operators DP World (Dubai Port World) and the international seaport of Turkmenbashi.

 A loan agreement was also signed between the government of Turkmenistan and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund to finance a project to create a chemical plant for the production of mineral fertilizers in the city of Turkmenabat.

 An agreement was signed on the establishment of a joint investment company in Turkmenistan between the Abu Dhabi Development Fund and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.  Vneshekonobank also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Economic Development Department.

 The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Electric Power Corporation «Turkmenenergo» and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar.

 Another memorandum was signed between the government of Turkmenistan and Nasdag Dubai Limited.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left an entry in the book of honorary visitors of Expo 2020 Dubai, in which he expressed his satisfaction with the participation of Turkmenistan in this global event, stressing the strength of relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE and readiness to bring them to broader horizons.

The results of the work of industries since the beginning of 2024 have been summed up in Turkmenistan

On July 12, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of the work of economic sectors for six months of the current year were summed up and the progress in implementing the adopted programs for the socio-economic development of the country was discussed. Turkmenistan ranked first in the supply of aviation fuel to Georgia in 2021, Report informs citing the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia. Over the past year, 57.7 thousand tons of jet fuel were delivered from Turkmenistan to Georgia.
