Delegation of Turkmenistan held talks in Kabul with the leadership of Afghanistan

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Vice-Chairman, Foreign Minister of the country Rashid Meredov, held talks on Saturday with the leadership of Afghanistan, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
It is noted that the Turkmen delegation is on a working visit to Afghanistan on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
R. Meredov met with the Prime Minister of Afghanistan Mohammad Hasan Akhund. During the meeting, the minister stressed that Turkmenistan, as a neighboring state, is deeply interested in the political stability and security of Afghanistan, the well-being and unity of the Afghan people, and resolving conflicts by peaceful, political and diplomatic means.
The Minister also noted that the Turkmen side expresses its readiness for constructive dialogue and close cooperation with the new state bodies of Afghanistan.
At the meeting of R. Meredov with acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaki considered priority issues of the bilateral agenda in the field of political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian interaction. The parties expressed the expediency of intensifying the dialogue between the official and business circles of the two countries in order to build up the potential of multifaceted interaction.
The need for further intensification of bilateral and multilateral contacts aimed at the effective implementation of large energy, communication and transport projects with the participation of Afghanistan was emphasized.
In this regard, issues on the implementation of the projects of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) and the high-voltage power transmission line Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) were discussed.
The Turkmen side once again stressed that Turkmenistan, as a neighboring country, is deeply interested in the political stability and security of Afghanistan, the well-being and unity of the Afghan people.
