Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran discussed by phone the development of cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, transport and other areas

During a telephone conversation, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi discussed issues of developing cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, transport, agro-industrial complex and other spheres, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Congratulating the Turkmen leader on the International Day of Neutrality and the 26th anniversary of Turkmenistan's acquisition of the legal status of neutrality, Raisi reaffirmed Iran's commitment to strengthening and expanding relations with Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen leader, noting the presence of a solid potential for expanding bilateral partnership, emphasized that at present, cooperation is becoming more dynamic and progressive. In this context, the sides noted the intensification of interstate political, diplomatic, economic and cultural ties based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and good neighborliness.
Having discussed the directions of bilateral interaction, taking into account the existing prospects and modern realities, the interlocutors noted the existence of great opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fuel and energy and transport and communication sectors, light industry, agriculture and processing industries.
In this aspect, the need for more effective use of the potential of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission was emphasized.
The telephone conversation took place on Monday at the initiative of the Iranian side.
