As part of a working visit to Tehran, the government delegation of Turkmenistan led by Vice-Chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vice-Chairman and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov was received on Sunday by Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The Turkmen side conveyed words of greetings from President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the constructive conversation, it was noted that at the present stage, interstate political, diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between Turkmenistan and Iran are actively developing on the basis of the principles of equality, mutual respect and good neighborliness.
The parties noted that the impetus for the further development of mutually beneficial bilateral partnership was given by the negotiations between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran, which took place in November 2021 in Ashgabat as part of the participation in the 15th Summit of Heads of State of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
On the same day, the government delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the first vice-president of Iran, Mohammad Mohber, at which issues of the bilateral agenda, including interaction in the field of the fuel and energy complex, were also discussed.
