For the first time in Ashgabat, a meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, the highest representative body of democracy, which will consider the creation of a bicameral parliament, has begun in a live video link.

The meeting of the People's Council is chaired by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Members of the government, the leadership of the Parliament, ministries and departments, political parties, as well as elders and youth representatives take part in the forum.

The agenda of the national forum includes priority issues of state life, the main of which is the Constitutional Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan."

Delegates from the Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary region gathered in the Rukhyet Palaces of the administrative centers of the regions, the Akhal velayat in the Ak-oi building, and the city of Ashgabat in the Mekan Palace in the capital.
