International company “Yasir Basir” has started transporting liquefied petroleum gas from Turkmenistan to Pakistan by road through Afghanistan.

This was reported by the newsletter of the Taliban government office in Kandahar.  The bulletin covered the official ceremony held in Shurandum, Kandahar.

Previously, the Pakistani government, facing a gas shortage crisis during the winter, drew up plans to import liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) overland from Turkmenistan via Afghanistan.

In the future, the problem of the shortage of “blue fuel” in the countries of this region is to be solved by the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which is currently being implemented.  The TAPI gas pipeline will annually supply 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the giant Galkynysh field, which gas reserves are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters.
