Feasibility study for the Conceptual Strategy for the Development of the Oil Refining Industry of Turkmenistan is being prepared

 During the extended meeting of the government, which President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held last Friday, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the ongoing measures to improve the country's oil refining industry and the preparation of long-term profile work plans.

 In particular, the Vice-Chairman said that a feasibility study of the «Conceptual Strategy for the Development of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and the Seydi Oil Refinery» is being developed.  In this regard, the results of the relevant international tender with the participation of foreign companies were reported.

 According to the feasibility study provided for the development, it is planned to: determine the potential and specific promising vectors for the development of the TCOR and SOR;  to study the possibilities and directions of modernization of existing technological facilities;  select new facilities for construction based on the demand in foreign markets for oil and petrochemical products and the available resource potential;  increase the competitiveness of manufactured products, increase the depth of oil refining and create an environmentally friendly and waste-free production.

 As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, the country pays great attention to the development of the fuel and energy sector through diversification, attraction of investments, expansion of cooperation with reliable foreign partners.

 In this regard, the head of state stressed the need to take measures to further increase cooperation with large specialized companies that are interested in participating in sectoral projects being implemented in Turkmenistan.

 Speaking about the importance of using modern technologies in the oil refining industry, expanding the range of competitive, high-quality, environmentally friendly products, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Vice-Chairman to continue comprehensive work in this direction.
