A gala reception was held in Ashgabat on January 26 to celebrate India's national holiday, Republic Day. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India Bandaru Wilsonbabu and Vice-Chairman and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov attended the event.

The meeting was an important confirmation of the strategic nature of bilateral relations, based on the deep historical roots and spiritual affinity of the two peoples.

Speaking to the guests, the head of the Indian diplomatic mission emphasized that India views Turkmenistan as a key partner within the framework of its "extended neighborhood" policy. The parties expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in strategic areas such as the oil, gas, and chemical industries, security, healthcare, and digital infrastructure development.

Particular attention is paid to close partnership in international forums, including the UN and the India-Central Asia Dialogue, which contributes to strengthening regional stability.

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov noted that regular contacts at the highest government level are the foundation of successful cooperation. Significant visits between the two countries' leaders in recent years have given a powerful impetus to the development of political and economic ties. Humanitarian dialogue remains an important component of cooperation.

The gala evening featured a rich cultural program, combining national music and dance from both countries, according to the Turkmenistan International Information Center.
